कुन्ती-विलापः तथा गोविन्द-आश्वासनम्

Kuntī’s Lament and Govinda’s Consolation

त॑ प्रयान्‍्तं महाबाहुमनुज्ञाप्प महाबलम्‌ | पर्यवर्तन्त ते सर्वे वृकस्थलनिवासिन:

taṁ prayāntaṁ mahābāhum anujñāpya mahābalam | paryavartanta te sarve vṛkasthalanivāsinaḥ ||

After granting leave to that mighty-armed, greatly powerful hero as he set out, all those who dwelt at Vṛkasthala turned back. The scene underscores proper conduct in departure: honoring a leader with due permission and then returning in orderly restraint, rather than clinging or creating disorder.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic decorum in transitions: one should formally grant or seek leave, honor the departing person, and then return without causing disturbance—an ethic of respect, restraint, and orderly conduct.

A powerful, heroic figure departs. After giving him permission/seeing him off, all the residents of Vṛkasthala turn back, indicating the conclusion of a send-off and the restoration of normal order.
