Vaiśampāyana said: Kṛpa, Somadatta, and King Bāhvlika—all of them—rose from their seats, honoring Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa). In the royal assembly, this act of standing became a public affirmation of respect for virtue and rightful conduct, even amid the gathering tensions that would lead to war.
वैशम्पायन उवाच

As Kṛṣṇa is received in the Kuru court, respected elders—Kṛpa, Somadatta, and King Bāhvlika—rise from their seats to honor him, marking a formal and ethically significant welcome.
