अध्याय ८२ — केशवप्रयाणे निमित्तदर्शनम्
Omens and Reception During Keśava’s Departure
त्वया धर्मार्थियुक्तं चेदुक्ते शिवमनामयम् | हित॑ नादास्यते बालो दिष्टस्य वशमेष्यति
tvayā dharmārthiyuktaṃ ced ukte śivam anāmayam | hitaṃ nādāsyate bālo diṣṭasya vaśam eṣyati ||
Arjuna said: “Even if you speak words aligned with dharma and aimed at true welfare—auspicious words, free from harm—a childish person will not accept that good counsel. He will instead fall under the sway of destiny.”

Right counsel—even when ethical, beneficial, and harmless—may fail if the listener is immature or obstinate; such a person becomes driven by “diṣṭa” (what is fated/ordained) rather than by discernment.
Arjuna comments on the limits of persuasion: he observes that a “bāla” (foolish person) will not accept wholesome, dharma-aligned advice and will instead proceed along a destiny-driven course.
