कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च प्रतिपत्स्व निरामयम् | अस्मद्धितमनुष्ठानं मन््ये तव न दुष्करम्,इसलिये आप ऐसा प्रयत्न कीजिये, जिससे कौरवों तथा पाण्डवोंके भी दुःखका निवारण हो जाय। मेरा विश्वास है कि हमारे लिये हितकर कार्य करना आपके लिये दुष्कर नहीं है
kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca pratipatsu nirāmayam | asmaddhitam anuṣṭhānaṃ manye tava na duṣkaram ||
In the crisis that has befallen both the Kurus and the Pāṇḍavas, bring about a state free from affliction. I believe that to undertake what is beneficial for us is not difficult for you.
अर्जुन उवाच
Arjuna frames ethical action as reducing suffering for both parties in a shared crisis, urging the addressee to undertake a welfare-oriented initiative. The emphasis is on impartial relief and responsible intervention rather than partisan escalation.
In the tense pre-war setting of the Udyoga Parva, Arjuna addresses a respected figure capable of influence and requests active effort to remove distress affecting both the Kauravas and the Pāṇḍavas, expressing confidence that such beneficial action is within that person’s power.
