kauravāṇāṃ pravṛttiṃ ca gatvā yuddhādhikārikām | niśamya vinivartiṣye jayāya tava bhārata ||
O Bhārata, I shall go and learn—by direct observation and report—the Kauravas’ preparations and intentions for war; having heard and understood them, I will return here again for the sake of your victory.
युधिछिर उवाच
Even when war looms, a ruler should act with deliberation: verify the opponent’s intentions and preparations, gather reliable intelligence, and then decide and act for the protection and rightful success of one’s side—without rashness.
Yudhiṣṭhira declares his intention to go to the Kauravas, learn the state of their war preparations and resolve, and then return to report—so that the addressed Bhārata may secure victory with informed planning.
