Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 72 — Bhīmasena’s counsel on conciliation and Duryodhana’s disposition

तथाशीलसमाचारे राजन्‌ मा प्रणयं कृथा: । वध्यास्ते सर्वलोकस्य कि पुनस्तव भारत,राजन्‌! ऐसे कुटिलस्वभाव और खोटे आचरणवाले दुर्योधनके प्रति आप प्रेम न दिखावें। भारत! धृतराष्ट्रके वे पुत्र तो सभी लोगोंके वध्य हैं; फिर आप उनका वध करें, इसके लिये तो कहना ही क्या है?

Translation

O king, show no affection toward Duryodhana, whose nature is so crooked and whose conduct so corrupt. O Bhārata, the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra are fit to be slain by all the world; how much more, then, if you yourself strike them down—what need is there to say more?
