Sañjaya’s Knowledge of Keśava and the Discipline of Indriya-nigraha
pṛthivīṃ cāntarikṣaṃ ca dyāṃ caiva puruṣottamaḥ | manasaiva viśiṣṭātmā nayatyātmavaśaṃ vaśī ||
Sanjaya said: The Supreme Person, possessed of an exceptional inner power and perfect self-mastery, can bring the earth, the mid-region, and even heaven under his control by the mere act of his mind. The verse underscores Krishna’s sovereign independence and the ethical implication that true mastery begins with mastery of oneself, not with external force.
