Adhyaya 60: Self-Assertion, Daiva, and the Rhetoric of Inevitability (उद्योग पर्व)

लोकसाक्षिकमेतन्मे माहात्म्यं दिक्षु विश्रुतम्‌ । आश्चासनार्थ भवतः प्रोक्ते न श्लाघया नूप,“राजन! मेरा यह माहात्म्य सब लोगोंकी आँखोंके समक्ष है; सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंमें प्रसिद्ध है। मैंने आपके आश्वासनके लिये ही इसकी यहाँ चर्चा की है, आत्मप्रशंसा करनेके लिये नहीं

“O King, this greatness of mine is witnessed by the world, plain before all eyes, and renowned in every direction. I have spoken of it here only to reassure you, not out of self-praise.”
