उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय ५४: दुर्योधनस्य धृतराष्ट्रं प्रति बलप्रशंसन-युक्तः आश्वासनवादः
Duryodhana’s Reassurance and Force-Praise to Dhritarashtra
अयोनिजास्त्रयो होते पिता माता च मातुलः,महाराज! अभश्वृत्थामाके ये पिता, माता और मामा तीनों ही अयोनिज हैं। अश्वत्थामा भी शूरवीर एवं मेरे पक्षमें स्थित हैं। राजन! ये सभी योद्धा देवताओंके समान पराक्रमी एवं महारथी हैं
ayonijāstrayo hote pitā mātā ca mātulaḥ | mahārāja! abhāśvṛtthāmāke ye pitā, mātā aura māmā trayo hi ayonijāḥ | aśvatthāmāpi śūravīra evaṃ mama pakṣe sthitaḥ | rājan! ete sarve yoddhā devatāsama-parākramā mahārathinaḥ ||
Duryodhana said: “O great king, three of my foremost supporters—father, mother, and maternal uncle—are of extraordinary (non-womb) origin. And Aśvatthāmā too is a proven hero who stands on my side. O king, all these warriors are as mighty as the gods, great chariot-fighters.”
