Duryodhana declares, with boastful certainty, that Arjuna (Pārtha) will be forced to go to Yama’s realm—struck down by volleys of arrows loosed by Droṇa, Aśvatthāmā (Drauṇi), and Kṛpa.
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse illustrates how arrogance and fixation on violent outcomes distort moral judgment: Duryodhana speaks as if the death of a righteous adversary is certain, revealing the ethical danger of pride and the adharma that treats destruction as triumph.
In Udyoga Parva’s pre-war tensions, Duryodhana proclaims that Arjuna will be slain and sent to Yama’s realm, citing the combined martial power of Droṇa, Aśvatthāmā, and Kṛpa as the agents who will overwhelm him with arrows.
