Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 50 — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Appraisal of Bhīmasena (भीमसेनभयवर्णनम्)

Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: “Just as a lion, newly come into its strength, roams fearlessly among herds of deer, so will Bhīma move unhindered through my own great armies.”
Mere numbers and outward might cannot secure victory when facing a truly powerful and resolute warrior; fear and foreboding arise when one recognizes the ethical and strategic cost of unjust conflict.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra voices apprehension about the coming war, imagining Bhīma moving through the Kaurava forces as effortlessly and fearlessly as a lion among deer—an omen of devastation for his side.
