अध्याय ४६ — सभाप्रवेशः तथा सञ्जयस्य दूतवृत्तान्तः
Entry into the Royal Assembly and Sañjaya’s Envoy Report
विदुरश्न महाप्राज्ञो युयुत्सुश्न महारथ: । सर्वे च सहिता: शूरा: पार्थिवा भरतर्षभ
viduraś ca mahāprājño yuyutsuś ca mahārathaḥ | sarve ca sahitāḥ śūrāḥ pārthivā bharatarṣabha ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Vidura, greatly wise, and Yuyutsu, the mighty chariot-warrior—together with all the assembled heroic kings—stood united, O bull among the Bharatas.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal that decisive moments require both wisdom (Vidura) and capable action (Yuyutsu), and that rulers acting ‘together’ can shape outcomes—implying that unity should be guided by discernment and dharma, not merely by power.
Vaiśampāyana lists key figures present: Vidura and Yuyutsu, along with other heroic kings, gathered in a unified assembly. It is a scene-setting line in Udyoga Parva, emphasizing who is present and aligned as the story advances toward major political and military developments.
