Crisis-Discernment of Right and Wrong
अतो<न््यथा रथिना फाल्गुनेन भीमेन चैवाहवर्दशितेन । परासिक्तान धार्तराष्टांश्व विद्धि प्रदह्ममानान् कर्मणा स्वेन पापान्,संजय! यदि ऐसा नहीं हुआ--कौरवोंने इसके विपरीत भाव दिखाया तो समझ लो कि रथपर बैठे हुए अर्जुन और युद्धके लिये कवच धारण करके तैयार हुए भीमसेनके द्वारा पराजित होकर धूृतराष्ट्रके वे सभी पापात्मा पुत्र अपने ही कर्मदोषसे दग्ध हो जायूँगे
ato 'nyathā rathinā phālgunena bhīmena caivāhava-darśitena | parāsiktān dhārtarāṣṭrāṃś ca viddhi pradahyamānān karmaṇā svena pāpān, saṃjaya ||
If it turns out otherwise—if the Kauravas reveal a disposition contrary to what is right—then know this, Sañjaya: those sinful sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra will be struck down and routed by Phālguna (Arjuna), the great charioteer, and by Bhīma, already armed and ready to display his prowess in battle. Burned by the consequences of their own deeds, they will perish through their own wrongdoing.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse stresses karmic moral causality: when a party persists in adharma and shows a perverse intention, destruction follows not merely from opponents’ strength but from the self-consuming force of one’s own wrongful actions.
Vāyudeva addresses Sañjaya, warning that if the Kauravas do not adopt a righteous stance, then Arjuna and Bhīma—ready for battle—will rout Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons, who will be ‘burned’ by the consequences of their own deeds.
