Drupada’s Alarm and Inquiry Regarding Śikhaṇḍinī (द्रुपदस्य भय-विमर्शः)

शिखण्डिनि हते यक्षा: स्वं रूप॑ प्रतिपत्स्यते । स्थूणो यक्षो निरुद्वेगो भवत्विति महामना:,'यक्षो! शिखण्डीके मारे जानेपर यह स्थूणाकर्ण यक्ष अपना पूर्वरूप फिर प्राप्त कर लेगा। अतः अब इसे निर्भय हो जाना चाहिये।” ऐसा कहकर महामना भगवान्‌ यक्षराज कुबेर उन यक्षोंद्वारा अत्यन्त पूजित हो निमेषमात्रमें ही अभीष्ट स्थानपर पहुँच जानेवाले अपने समस्त सेवकोंके साथ वहाँसे चले गये

śikhaṇḍini hate yakṣāḥ svaṁ rūpaṁ pratipatsyate | sthūṇo yakṣo nirudvego bhavatv iti mahāmanāḥ ||

Bhīṣma said: “When Śikhaṇḍin is slain, the Yakṣa will regain his own original form. Therefore let the Yakṣa Sthūṇa be free from fear and anxiety.” Having spoken thus, the great-souled lord of the Yakṣas, Kubera—highly honored by those Yakṣas—departed from there along with all his attendants, who could reach their desired destination in but a moment.
