Bhishma said: Hearing this, Drupada—also known as Yajñasena—reported the entire matter accurately to his knowledgeable ministers. Then, O king, with the protection of the people in view, he again held a confidential consultation with his council, arranging whatever measures were proper for safeguarding his subjects.

Educational Q&A

A king’s dharma includes transparent reporting of facts to competent advisers and then taking prudent, situation-appropriate measures to protect the people; governance is shown as deliberative and responsibility-centered.

After receiving certain information, Drupada (Yajñasena) briefs his ministers fully and accurately, and then holds a secret council to decide the proper arrangements for the security and welfare of his subjects.
