Bhishma said: When Rama (Parashurama) again told her, “Speak,” Amba—smiling with pure composure—recounted to the Bhargava the entire account exactly as it had happened.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic necessity of stating one’s case truthfully and completely (yathātattvam) when seeking justice. Ethical judgment depends on accurate narration, and composure (śucismitā) suggests inner resolve even amid suffering.
Parashurama prompts Amba again to speak. In response, Amba calmly and fully narrates her entire history to him, setting the stage for Parashurama’s involvement in the conflict surrounding her grievance with Bhishma.
