With minds free from agitation, they honored Bhārgava Paraśurāma by offering the traditional madhuparka. When he had been duly worshipped according to proper rite, he sat down there together with them.

Even when larger tensions and rivalries loom, dharma is upheld through disciplined conduct—composure (avyagratā) and proper hospitality (madhuparka, yathā-nyāya) toward a revered guest. Ethical order is maintained by honoring persons according to established rites rather than acting from agitation.
Bhīṣma narrates that the assembled hosts received and honored Bhārgava Paraśurāma with the formal madhuparka offering. After being worshipped in the prescribed manner, Paraśurāma sat down with them, marking the completion of the reception ritual and the beginning of the ensuing interaction.
