Rukmī’s Offer of Aid and Arjuna’s Refusal (रुक्मिप्रस्तावः—अर्जुनप्रत्याख्यानम्)

न हि जातु द्वयोरबुद्धि: समा भवति कर्हिचित्‌ | शौर्य च बलनेतृणां स्पर्थते च परस्परम्‌,“दो पुरुषोंकी बुद्धि कभी समान नहीं होती। यदि दोनों ओर योग्य सेनापति हों तो उनका शौर्य एक-दूसरेकी होड़में बढ़ता है

na hi jātu dvayor abuddhiḥ samā bhavati karhicit | śauryaṃ ca balanetṝṇāṃ spardhate ca parasparam |

“Never, at any time, do the judgments of two persons become exactly the same. And when both sides have capable commanders, their valor competes—each spurring the other on.”
