पाण्डवसेनानायकाभिषेकः तथा बलरामागमन-उपदेशः | Appointment of Pandava Commanders and Balarama’s Counsel

तथा कवचिन: शूरा: शस्त्रेषु कृतनिश्चया: । कुलीना हययोनिज्ञा: सारथ्ये विनिवेषिता:,इसी प्रकार जो शस्त्र-विद्याका निश्चित ज्ञान रखनेवाले, कुलीन तथा घोड़ोंकी नस्लको पहचाननेवाले थे, वे कवचधारी शूरवीर ही सारथिके कामपर नियुक्त किये गये थे

tathā kavacinaḥ śūrāḥ śastreṣu kṛtaniścayāḥ | kulīnā hayayonijñāḥ sārathye viniveśitāḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana said: Likewise, those armored heroes—valiant men firmly trained and resolved in the use of weapons, of noble lineage, and skilled in recognizing the breeds and temperaments of horses—were appointed to the duty of charioteers.
