Upaśruti Guides Indrāṇī to Indra; Indrāṇī Reports Nahuṣa’s Misconduct (उपश्रुति-इन्द्राणी-इन्द्रदर्शन प्रसङ्गः)
उपश्रुतिर्वाच उपश्रुतिरहं देवि तवान्तिकमुपागता । दर्शन चैव सम्प्राप्ता तव सत्येन भाविनि,उपश्रुति बोलीं--देवि! मैं उपश्रुति हूँ और तुम्हारे पास आयी हूँ। भामिनि! तुम्हारे सत्यसे प्रभावित होकर मैंने तुम्हें दर्शन दिया है
Upaśrutir uvāca—Upaśrutir ahaṃ devi tavāntikam upāgatā | darśanaṃ caiva samprāptā tava satyena bhāmini ||
Upaśruti said: “O goddess, I am Upaśruti, and I have come into your presence. O fair lady, moved by the power of your truthfulness, I have granted you my audience.”
शल्य उवाच
Truthfulness (satya) is presented as a potent ethical force that can draw grace and auspicious encounters; moral integrity is shown to have tangible spiritual consequences.
Upaśruti introduces herself to a woman addressed as ‘devi/bhāmini’ and explains that she has come near and granted her audience specifically because she was impressed or compelled by the woman’s truthfulness.
