Udyoga Parva Adhyaya 133 — A Mother’s Counsel to Saṃjaya

सर्वे ते शत्रव: शक््या न चेज्जीवितुमिच्छसि । अथ चेदीदृशीं वृत्ति क्लीबामभ्युपपद्यसे
Transliteration
sarve te śatravaḥ śakyā na cej jīvitum icchasi | atha ced īdṛśīṁ vṛttiṁ klībām abhyupapadyase ||
Translation
The son said: “All your enemies can indeed be dealt with—if you no longer wish to live. But if, instead, you adopt such a course of conduct—this cowardly way—then you abandon the resolve expected of one who must face hostility with courage and responsibility.”
