न होतामाशिषं पाण्डुर्न चाहं न पितामह: । प्रयुक्तवन्त: पूर्व ते यया चरसि मेधया,तुम जिस बुद्धिके सहारे चलते हो, उसके लिये न तो तुम्हारे पिता पाण्डुने, न मैंने और न पितामहने ही पहले कभी आशीर्वाद दिया था (अर्थात् तुममें वैसी बुद्धि होनेकी कामना किसीने नहीं की थी)
Translation
Vāyu said: “As for the intellect by which you now conduct yourself—neither your father Pāṇḍu, nor I, nor the Pitāmaha ever blessed it in former days; that is, none ever wished that such a mind should arise in you.”
