अध्याय १२२ — कृष्णस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛṣṇa’s Ethical Counsel to Duryodhana
येन त्वां नाभिजानन्ति ततोऊज्ञातोडसि पातितः । प्रीत्यैव चासि दौहिवत्रैस्तारितस्त्वमिहागत:
yena tvāṁ nābhijānanti tato 'jñāto 'si pātitaḥ | prītyaiva cāsi dauhitrais tāritas tvam ihāgataḥ ||
Because of that fault, they did not recognize you; therefore, being unknown to all, you were cast down from heaven. But your daughter’s sons, moved purely by affection, rescued you—so you have come here again.
नारद उवाच
Pride and self-exalting conduct can obscure one’s earned merit and lead to a fall; conversely, sincere affection and familial responsibility (here, the daughter’s sons) can become a means of rescue and restoration.
Nārada explains to a royal sage that he was not recognized in heaven and was therefore cast down; later, his grandsons through his daughter, acting out of love, delivered him and enabled his return.
