Gālava’s Despair and Resolve to Seek Viṣṇu

Viśvāmitro ’tha sambhrāntaḥ śrapayāmāsa vai caruṃ paramānnasya yatnena na ca taṃ pratyapālayat.

Nārada said: Then Viśvāmitra, in great haste, set about cooking a caru—an excellent offering of fine food—with careful effort; yet he did not wait upon that guest in due time, for the guest could not remain waiting. The episode shows that even sincere intent and lavish preparation fall short when timely hospitality is neglected.
