Gāndhārī’s Battlefield Survey: The Fallen and the Onset of Funeral Rites (शल्य-भगीरथ-भीष्म-द्रोणादि-दर्शनम्)

एष तप्त्वा रणे शत्रून्‌ शस्त्रतापेन वीर्यवान्‌ । नरसूर्यो5स्तमभ्येति सूर्योडस्तमिव केशव,केशव! जैसे सूर्य सारे जगत्‌को ताप देकर अस्ताचलको चले जाते हैं, उसी तरह ये पराक्रमी मानवसूर्य रणभूमिमें अपने शस्त्रोंके प्रतापसे शत्रुओंकी संतप्त करके अस्त हो रहे हैं

Vaiśampāyana said: “O Keśava, as the sun, after scorching the whole world with its heat, goes down toward the western mountain, so does this valiant ‘sun among men’: having seared his foes on the battlefield with the fiery might of his weapons, he now sinks into his setting.”
