अरण्यवृत्ति-वैराग्योपदेशः | Forest Discipline and the Program of Non-Attachment

न शोचन्न प्रद्नष्यंश्व तुल्यनिन्दात्मसंस्तुति: । निराशीरनरर्मिमो भूत्वा निर्द्धन्द्ो निष्परिग्रह:,किसीके लिये न शोक करूँगा न हर्ष। निन्‍दा और स्तुतिको समान समझूँगा। आशा और ममताको त्यागकर निर्दड्ध हो जाऊँगा तथा कभी किसी वस्तुका संग्रह नहीं करूँगा

Transliteration

na śocan na prahṛṣyaṃś ca tulya-nindātma-saṃstutiḥ | nirāśīr anahaṃkāro bhūtvā nirdvandvo niṣparigrahaḥ ||

Translation

Yudhiṣṭhira said: “I shall neither grieve for anyone nor exult. I shall regard censure and praise as equal. Casting off expectation and the sense of ‘I’ and ‘mine’, I shall become free from the pairs of opposites and live without hoarding or possessiveness.”
