Purohita-Niyoga and the Brahma–Kṣatra Concord

Aila–Kaśyapa Saṃvāda

धर्मात्मा मन्त्रविद्‌ येषां राज्ञां राजन्‌ पुरोहित: । राजा चैवंगुणो येषां कुशलं तेषु सर्वश:,राजन्‌! जिन राजाओंका पुरोहित धर्मात्मा एवं सलाह देनेमें कुशल होता है और जिनका राजा भी ऐसे ही गुणोंसे सम्पन्न (धर्मपरायण एवं गुप्त बातोंका जाननेवाला) होता है, उन राजा और प्रजाओंका सब प्रकारसे भला होता है

bhīṣma uvāca | dharmātmā mantravid yeṣāṃ rājñāṃ rājan purohitaḥ | rājā caivaṃguṇo yeṣāṃ kuśalaṃ teṣu sarvaśaḥ ||

Bhishma said: O King, when a ruler’s royal priest is righteous in character and skilled in counsel, and when the king himself possesses the same qualities, then for such a king and his people there is well-being in every respect.
