Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages
गुप्त: स गौतमेनासीद् गड्रगकूलेडभिरक्षित: । दथिवाहनका पौत्र और दिविरथका पुत्र भी गड़ातटपर महर्षि गौतमके द्वारा सुरक्षित है
guptaḥ sa gautamenāsīd gaḍragakūleḍabhirakṣitaḥ | dadhivāhanakā pautraḥ divirathakā putro 'pi gaḍātaṭapara maharṣiṇā gautamena rakṣitaḥ ||
Vāsudeva said: “He remained hidden and was protected by the sage Gautama, guarded among the people of the Gaḍraga clan. That descendant of Dadhivāhana, the son of Diviratha as well, was kept safe by Maharṣi Gautama on the bank of the Gaḍā.”
