Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “You, the primeval Lord, entered Aditi’s womb in seven distinct forms. You alone are renowned as Pṛścigarbha; and because you manifest across the three ages, the learned also call you ‘Triyuga.’”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse emphasizes the Lord’s transcendence and compassionate accessibility: the primordial reality can assume multiple forms and names for the welfare and understanding of beings across different ages. Recognizing these epithets is a way of acknowledging divine continuity through time.
Vaiśaṃpāyana is describing the addressed deity as having taken birth/manifestation through Aditi in sevenfold fashion, identifying him with the epithet Pṛścigarbha, and noting that learned people call him Triyuga because of his appearance across the three yugas.
