dvijāvamānād anyatra prādād varam anuttamam | abhayaṁ sarvabhūtebhyo dadau tasmai jagatpatiḥ ||
The Lord of the world granted him an unsurpassed boon: that he would have no fear from any quarter—except in the case of insulting a brahmin. Thus the cosmic ruler bestowed upon him assurance of safety from all living beings, while ethically binding him to reverence the twice-born and to avoid sacrilege against sacred learning and conduct.

Even extraordinary protection or power is ethically conditioned: fearlessness is granted, but it is bounded by a strict prohibition against insulting a brahmin (dvija). The verse underscores that reverence for sacred learning, restraint in speech, and respect for dharma are higher than mere invulnerability.
Vāyudeva reports that the cosmic lord (jagatpati) grants someone a supreme boon—security from all beings—while specifying a single exception: if he commits dvijāvamāna (insulting a brahmin), that protection does not apply. The boon functions as both reward and moral safeguard.
