अध्याय ३५१ — उञ्छवृत्ति-व्रतसिद्धेः मानुषस्य परमगतिः
Sūrya–Nāga Dialogue on the Perfected Gleaner-Ascetic
स एवमुक्तो विमुखश्चिन्ताव्याकुलमानस: । प्रणम्य वरदं देवमुवाच हरिमी श्वरम्,“भगवान्के इस प्रकार आदेश देनेपर ब्रह्माजीका मन चिन्तासे व्याकुल हो उठा। वे सृष्टिकार्यसे विमुख हो वरदायक देवता सर्वेश्वर श्रीहरिको प्रणाम करके इस प्रकार बोले --
sa evam ukto vimukhaś cintāvyākulamānasaḥ | praṇamya varadaṃ devam uvāca harim īśvaram ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Thus addressed, Brahmā’s mind became agitated with anxious thought. Turning away from the work of creation, he bowed to the boon-giving Lord—Hari, the Supreme Ruler—and spoke.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
When responsibility becomes morally or emotionally burdensome, one should not act blindly; instead, withdraw from impulsive action, cultivate humility, and seek higher guidance grounded in dharma.
After receiving an instruction, Brahmā becomes troubled and turns away from initiating creation. He bows to Hari, the boon-giving Supreme Lord, and begins to speak—signaling a request for clarification, support, or permission aligned with cosmic law.
