मम त्वं नाभितो जात: प्रजासर्गकर: प्रभु: । सृज प्रजास्त्वं विविधा ब्रह्मन् सजडपण्डिता:,“ब्रह्मन्‌! तुम मेरी नाभिसे प्रजावर्गकी सृष्टि करनेके लिये उत्पन्न हुए हो और इस कार्यमें समर्थ हो; अत: जड-चेतनसहित नाना प्रकारकी प्रजाओंकी सृष्टि करो”

mama tvaṁ nābhito jātaḥ prajāsargakaraḥ prabhuḥ | sṛja prajāstvam vividhā brahman sajaḍapaṇḍitāḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana said: “You have been born from my navel, O Brahman, as the capable lord appointed to bring forth the creation of beings. Therefore create the many kinds of creatures—both insentient and sentient, the dull and the wise—so that the world may be duly populated and ordered.”
