Āścarya-kathana: Brāhmaṇa–Nāga Dialogue on Sūrya (Vivasvat) and the ‘Second Sun’ Phenomenon
Janamejaya uvāca—Brāhman! Bhagavān ananyabhāvena bhajana-karṇe sarvān bhaktān prasādayati, teṣāṁ vidhivat kṛtāṁ pūjāṁ ca svayam eva gṛhṇāti; etat kīdṛśam ānandasya viṣayam!
Janamejaya said: “O Brahmin! How joyful it is that the Blessed Lord delights all devotees who worship Him with undivided devotion, and that He Himself accepts their duly performed worship.”
जनमेजय उवाच
Single-minded devotion (ananyabhāva) and properly performed worship (vidhivat pūjā) are portrayed as met with divine grace: the Lord personally accepts the offering and delights the devotee, emphasizing reciprocity between sincere devotion and divine favor.
Janamejaya addresses a Brahmin sage with wonder and happiness, reflecting on the idea that the Lord is pleased by all exclusive devotees and personally receives their duly offered worship—setting up or reinforcing a discussion on bhakti, ritual propriety, and divine responsiveness.
