Vaiśampāyana said: “In Śvetadvīpa I had seen two foremost sages of just such a form.” After that, Nārada, looking toward those two supreme persons, reflected within himself: “Ah! The venerable members I beheld inside the Lord’s assembly in Śvetadvīpa—revered by all beings—these two best of sages are exactly like them.” Having thus pondered in his mind, he then circumambulated them in reverence.

True spiritual discernment expresses itself as humility and reverence: when Nārada recognizes in living persons the same sanctity he once witnessed in the Lord’s divine assembly, he responds not with pride of knowledge but with respectful circumambulation.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Nārada sees two exalted beings and mentally compares them to the revered members he had earlier seen in the Lord’s assembly at Śvetadvīpa; concluding they are of the same divine stature, he honors them by circumambulating them.
