सुरकार्ये हनिष्यामि यज्ञघ्नं दितिनन्दनम्‌ | तदनन्तर देवताओंके कार्यके लिये नरसिंहरूप धारण करके यज्ञनाशक दितिनन्दन हिरण्यकशिपुका संहार कर डालूँगा

Transliteration

surakārye haniṣyāmi yajñaghnaṃ ditinandanaṃ | tadanantaraṃ devatānāṃ kāryārthaṃ nara-siṃha-rūpaṃ dhārayitvā yajña-nāśakaṃ ditinandanaṃ hiraṇyakaśipuṃ saṃhariṣyāmi ||

Translation

Bhishma said: “For the welfare of the gods I shall slay the destroyer of sacrifice, the son of Diti. Thereafter, to accomplish the gods’ purpose, I will assume the form of Narasiṃha and kill Hiraṇyakaśipu, Diti’s son, who brings ruin upon the yajña.”
