भीष्म उवाच ततः स तं समुद्धूतं भूमिपालो महान् वसुः । प्रसादयामास मुनि सदस्यास्ते च सर्वश:,भीष्मजीने कहा--युधिष्ठिर! इसका कारण बताता हूँ, सुनो। वे महान् भूपाल वसु तथा अन्य सम्पूर्ण सदस्य मिलकर उस समय रोषमें भरे हुए मुनि बृहस्पतिको मनाने लगे
bhīṣma uvāca tataḥ sa taṃ samuddhūtaṃ bhūmipālo mahān vasuḥ | prasādayāmāsa muniṃ sadasyās te ca sarvaśaḥ ||
Bhishma said: Then the great king Vasu sought to pacify that sage, who had been stirred into anger; and all the assembled members as well, in every way, joined in appeasing him.
भीष्म उवाच
When anger disrupts order—especially involving a revered sage—the dharmic course for a ruler and the community is respectful conciliation and restoration of harmony, not retaliation or further provocation.
Bhishma narrates that King Vasu, along with all the members present in the assembly, tries to pacify the sage (identified in the accompanying context as Brihaspati) who has become agitated.
