Bhīṣma said: “And King Uparicara declared: ‘This share that I have now set forth should be accepted by the Lord Himself, manifesting before my very eyes—this is the proper course; there is no doubt about it.’”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights a devotional-ethical stance: an offering (bhāga) is considered properly completed only when accepted by the divine, and the devotee seeks direct assurance (pratyakṣa) of that acceptance—expressing unwavering conviction and a demand for rightful validation of ritual and intent.
Bhīṣma recounts an episode in which King Uparicara proclaims that the portion he has presented should be taken by the Lord Himself, appearing before him; he insists this is the just and proper outcome and that there is no doubt about it.
