Śoka-śamana: Kṛṣṇa’s Consolation and Nārada’s Exempla to Sṛñjaya
Chapter 29
न वोढारं धुरं तस्य कश्रिन्मेने प्रजापति:,“सूृंजय! प्रजापति ब्रह्माने इन्द्रके तुल्य पराक्रमी उशीनरपुत्र राजा शिबिके सिवा सम्पूर्ण राजाओंमें भूत या भविष्यकालके दूसरे किसी राजाको ऐसा नहीं माना, जो शिबिका कार्यभार वहन कर सकता हो
na voḍhāraṃ dhuraṃ tasya kaścin mene prajāpatiḥ | “sṛñjaya! prajāpati-brahmāṇe indreṇa tulya-parākramaḥ uśīnara-putraḥ rājā śibiḥ; bhūta-bhaviṣya-kāle sampūrṇa-rājānāṃ madhye ’nyaṃ kaṃcana rājānaṃ naiva mene yaḥ śibikāyāḥ kārya-bhāraṃ vahatīti”
Vāyu said: “For that burden, Prajāpati found no other bearer. O Sṛñjaya, King Śibi—the son of Uśīnara—was as mighty as Prajāpati Brahmā and Indra. Among all kings of the past and those yet to come, he judged that there was no other ruler who could carry the responsibility embodied in Śibi’s deed.”
