ततो योगबल कृत्वा सर्वयोगेश्वरेश्वर: । त॑ं यज्ञं स महातेजा भीमैरनुचरैस्तदा
tato yogabalaṃ kṛtvā sarvayogeśvareśvaraḥ | taṃ yajñaṃ sa mahātejā bhīmair anucaraiḥ tadā
Then, having marshalled the power born of yoga, that mighty one—lord over the masters of all yogic disciplines—set about that sacrifice at that time, attended by formidable followers, his radiance and authority unmistakable. The passage underscores how inner mastery (yoga-bala) is presented as the proper foundation for directing great ritual and public action.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse links outer religious action (yajña) with inner discipline (yoga): legitimate authority and effective leadership are portrayed as grounded in self-mastery and spiritual strength, not merely in ceremony or force.
Bhishma describes a powerful figure who, after employing yogic power, proceeds to conduct a particular sacrifice, surrounded by a formidable retinue—highlighting both spiritual capability and the public, organized nature of the ritual act.
