Dāna ethics, lawful wealth, and settling obligations
amānuṣam atho nādaṃ sa mumoca mahāsuraḥ | vyajṛmbhaccaiva rājendra tīvrajvarasamanvitaḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: Then that mighty asura, seized by a burning fever, let out an inhuman roar; and, O king, he repeatedly yawned—his body and breath betraying a violent inner affliction.
The verse hints that terrifying power without inner balance is unstable: adharma and excess manifest as agitation and affliction, so outward menace can conceal inner suffering and decline.
A great asura, stricken with intense fever, emits an inhuman roar and repeatedly yawns, while Bhishma narrates the episode to the king (addressed as rājendra).
