अध्याय २८१ — दानधर्मः, न्यायागतधनम्, ऋणत्रय-परिशोधनं च

Dāna ethics, lawful wealth, and settling obligations

वज़्िणं मृगयामास तदा भरतसत्तम | धर्मज्ञ राजेन्द्र! भरतसत्तम! उसके सारे अंग रक्तसे भींगे हुए थे। उसने चीर और वल्कल पहन रखे थे। ऐसे विकराल रूपवाली वह भयानक ब्रह्महत्या वृत्रके शरीरसे निकलकर तत्काल ही वज्रधारी इन्द्रको खोजने लगी

vajriṇaṁ mṛgayāmāsa tadā bharatasattama | dharmajña rājendra bharatasattama |

Bhishma said: “Then that dreadful embodiment of brahmahatyā—terrible to behold, its limbs smeared with blood and clad in rags and bark—having emerged from Vṛtra’s body, at once began to hunt for Indra, the wielder of the thunderbolt. O best of the Bharatas, O dharma-knowing king!”
