Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions

तत्‌ प्रेक्ष्य तादृशं रूप॑ त्रैलोक्येनापि दुर्जयम्‌ । वृत्रस्य देवा: संत्रस्ता न शान्तिमुपलेभिरे,वृत्रासुरका वह वैसा रूप, जो तीनों लोकोंके लिये भी दुर्जय था, देखकर देवतालोग डर गये। उन्हें शान्ति नहीं मिलती थी

tat prekṣya tādṛśaṁ rūpaṁ trailokyenāpi durjayam | vṛtrasya devāḥ saṁtrastā na śāntim upalebhire ||

Beholding Vṛtra’s such a form—invincible even to the three worlds—the gods were seized with fear. Shaken and unsettled, they could find no peace of mind.
