Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions

aindre samāviśad vajaṁ lokasaṁrakṣaṇe rataḥ | punaḥ lokarakṣāparāyaṇaḥ sarvalokapūjito deveśvaraḥ bhagavān viṣṇuḥ api indrasya vajaṁ praviśya lokān arakṣat |

Bhishma said: Devoted to the protection of the worlds, the Blessed Lord Vishnu entered Indra’s thunderbolt. Ever intent on safeguarding creation, the Lord of gods—revered by all beings—thus took refuge within the weapon so that the power meant for cosmic defense might act without deviation from righteousness and for the welfare of all.
