ततो देवगणाः: क्रुद्धा: सर्वतः शरवृष्टिभि: । अश्मवर्षमपोहन्त वृत्रप्रेरितमाहवे,यह देख देवगण कुपित हो उठे। उन्होंने युद्धमें सब ओरसे बाणोंकी वर्षा करके वृत्रासुरके चलाये हुए पत्थरोंकी वर्षाको नष्ट कर दिया

Transliteration

tato devagaṇāḥ kruddhāḥ sarvataḥ śaravṛṣṭibhiḥ | aśmavarṣam apohanta vṛtrapreritam āhave ||

Translation

Then the hosts of gods, enraged, showered arrows on every side. In the midst of battle they beat back and nullified the rain of stones hurled at Vṛtra’s instigation—showing how disciplined force is employed to counter destructive aggression and restore order in war.
