Educational Q&A

The verse teaches a Vaiṣṇava theological principle: Viṣṇu is the sustaining ground of existence, and the entire universe abides in Him. Ethically, it frames right understanding (jñāna) and reverent listening (śravaṇa) as foundations for dharmic orientation.

Bhīṣma, in an instructive mode, addresses a Daitya and introduces a discourse on Viṣṇu’s supreme greatness, urging the listener to attend carefully and to grasp the cosmological claim that all the world is established in Viṣṇu.
