Jvarotpatti — The Origin and Distribution of Jvara

Fever

पुण्यपापक्षयार्थ हि सांख्यज्ञानं विधीयते । तत्क्षये हुस्य पश्यन्ति ब्रह्मुभावे परां गतिम्‌,पुण्य और पापोंके क्षयके लिये ही ज्ञानयोगको साधन बताया गया है। उनका क्षय हो जानेपर जब जीवात्माको ब्रह्मभावकी प्राप्ति हो जाती है, तब विद्वानुलोग उसकी परमगति मानते हैं

For the sake of exhausting merit and sin, the Sāṅkhya knowledge is prescribed. When they are exhausted and the self attains the state of Brahman, the wise behold that as the supreme destination.
