Instruction on the Cessation of Craving

Kapila says: Deluded people approve only the visible rewards of charity and sacrificial rites, and do not acknowledge the fruits of yoga and related disciplines. Because they do not understand the greatness of all the means that lead to liberation, their taste remains fixed on other rewards such as heaven. But for the wise—those who take refuge in the ancient, eternal, and unshakable yogic code of right conduct, and who remain devoted to their own duties—their austerity grows ever more intense and transformative, rising step by step toward liberation.
