Kāla as Regulator; Pacification of Grief

yadā na bhāvaṃ kurute sarvabhūteṣu pāpakam | karmaṇā manasā vācā brahma sampadyate tadā ||

Vaiśampāyana said: When a person no longer entertains any sinful intention toward any being—whether through deed, thought, or speech—then he attains Brahman, the Supreme Reality.

Educational Q&A

Liberation is tied to ethical purity: when one abandons harmful intent toward all beings in the three channels of conduct—actions, thoughts, and speech—one becomes fit to attain Brahman.

In the didactic setting of the Śānti Parva, Vaiśampāyana reports a teaching that defines a practical criterion for spiritual attainment: universal non-malice expressed consistently in deed, mind, and word.
