Śaṅkha–Likhita Upākhyāna: Daṇḍa, Confession, and the Purification of Kingship (शङ्ख-लिखितोपाख्यानम्)

विद्यस्ते पुरुषव्याप्र वचनं कुरुसत्तम । शृणुष्वैवं यथा कुर्वन्‌ न धर्माच्च्यवसे नूप,“कुरुश्रेष्ठ! पुरुषसिंह नरेश्वर! मैं तो तुम्हारी बात समझता हूँ। अब तुम मेरा यह वचन सुनो, जिसके अनुसार कार्य करनेपर धर्मसे च्युत नहीं होओगे

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: vidyā te puruṣavyāghra vacanaṃ kurusattama | śṛṇuṣvaivaṃ yathā kurvan na dharmāc cyavase nṛpa ||

Vaiśampāyana said: “O tiger among men, O best of the Kurus! I understand your intent. Now listen to my counsel; if you act in accordance with it, O king, you will not fall away from dharma.”
