Śakra (Indra) said: “O Lord of the gods, when you honor me, the other deities will place me in the foremost position. O consort of Śacī, O divine sovereign—therefore I have come here to you in person. Receive me with due welcome. Once I am worshipped by you, the other gods too will set me before them and honor me.”

Honor shown by a rightful authority establishes social and cosmic precedence: when the acknowledged leader offers due respect, others follow, reinforcing order (maryādā) and rightful hierarchy rather than mere ego.
Śakra (Indra) addresses the ‘Lord of the gods,’ requesting formal welcome and worship, stating that once honored by him, the other deities will also place Indra in the foremost position and respect him.
